Synchronisation of files/folders instead of a straightforward backup so that you can run the same backup daily or weekly to only copy files that have changed or delete files that no longer exist (if required)

Save the backup in a Zip format that can be opened by Winzip or similar program. This is essential and is holding back what it otherwise a good utility.

I have been in the industry for 25 years now and the ONLY backups I can restore from the early days are those saved in a zip file format. You can mess around with the user interface, provide simple features like incremental backups etc BUT If...

Add the capability of creating a disk image of the backed up files, for easy restoring of a computer.

This is especially useful for computers switching from a computer with Windows XP or Vista to Windows 7.

Backup should look for 'unique' drive names. That is, 'BACK-1TB-AMY' should backup regarless of Windows' drive letter. Especially important if you have something like a multifunction printer that may add/remove four drive 'letters'
